Chris Derosa

I have been busier since the start of 2009 than ever before and I‚m sure using
RhythmTech Percussion has something to do with it!

I recently did the „Love Story‰ release party for dance/pop artist Nadia Ali
http://www.myspace.com/nadiaali Going forward Nadia will be touring on the West
Coast and abroad in support of that release.

I was also blessed to be chosen as part of LensCrafters "See What You Love" advertising campaign. Park Pictures filmed me drumming away in two different vignettes under the bright lights of Times Square NYC (right on the street:-) very exciting to say the least!

The T.V. commercials should start airing on major stations including CNN May 1st, 2009 and go at least throughout the end of the year.

I have a few recordings coming up: The Turn http://www.myspace.com/rocktheturn
Eyelash http://www.myspace.com/eyelash.

In addition to that I‚ve been performing around town with some very talented artists:

Monica Allison http://www.myspace.com/monicaallison

The Turn http://www.myspace.com/rocktheturn
Amanda Ray http://www.myspace.com/amandaraymusic

as well as performing for church whenever possible.

Alex Alexander

I've been busy as usual in NYC doing sessions and some touring with different acts. Most recently some live recording with Danielia Cotton (a real powerhouse of a rock singer) and with the Latin Artist ELJURI in Mexico.

Eljuri is planning on doing much more in 2009. We did some great appearances live on the radio as well as shows in Mexico City.

I've also been busy in the Studio playing (and Mixing!) the new record for last years Grammy Nominee- Musicians Sans Frontiers. They have made a real Rockin record to be released in Spring 2009 with myself on drumkit.

I've also been doing shows with the original singer from the 80's rock band Urgent- Mike Kehr. Mike has one of the best voice in the rock world and we are all excited to do much more in the coming year.

Of course I always incorporate Rhythm Tech percussion in my setups. Your instruments always come in handy when I need them most.

Just back from 4 months tour with The radio City Arena Show. That was first in the history of road shows in the US.

We traveled with 38 trucks, 15 buses and cast of close to 100 people. every time we moved the show they had to hire extra 175 stage hands for us to get ready for the next city. this was we did 20 cities and 106 shows in 2 months!

Think next year we'll have the tour all over the east coast starting Montreal and finishing up in Miami Beach.

I am currently on tour with The Eagles in support of our Grammy nominated album "Long Road Out Of Eden" since Feb. 2008. We will be touring all over the world well into 2010.

This is my 15th year with the band. In addition to co-producing "Long Road Out Of Eden", I recorded most of the drum tracks as well as the percussion on the record.

Also, when not on the road with The Eagles, I am the drummer in both Don Henley's and Glenn Frey's Solo bands as well as Glenn and Joe Walsh's corporate band.

Don and I continue to use Rhythmtech products both on stage and in the studio. They are dependable and are a delight to play.

Unique uses of Rhythm Tech products :

Alex Alexander - "I use Rhythm Tech products with guitar effects pedals, creating new sounds never heard before! I also like to have around the kit so i can play them as the occasion arises."

Frank Bellucci - "I play the tambourine & bells with my feet. They are mounted to the foot pedal attachment."

Mike Bennett - "Nothing unusual but I'm learning to always carry a Rhythm Tech Shaker & Hat Trick with me at all times. They always come in handy when adding color and character to a tune on stage and in the studio!"

Brendan Buckley - "I dig using the crasher as a disco hi hat."

CanUnDrum - "... discovered that by attaching The Laptop to the open end of a bucket that we can achieve a snare-like sound allowing us to play it like any "real" drum and thereby keep true to our "un-drum" theme."

Jeff Consi - "I sometimes mic up and use the Laptop for a funky 16th note overdub w/ brushes."

Richard Crooks - "Shakers taped to sticks. Use any hardware including floor tom legs for mounting ... percussion gear."

Adam Culvey - "Let's see... last week I was carrying my Smoky Blue Canz shaker in my back pocket while hauling the solo artists' 120 lb keyboard. When someone asked me, 'hey, I thought you played percussion', I simply shook my rear (in time, of course)." I'm not sure if I told you this before, but I've been placing an RT True Colors tambourine on top of my kick drum, both live and in the studio ... groovy.

Manton Daly - "The active snare system is crisp, brilliant and sensitive. It brings to your snare a warm but clear sound and most of all it has many different pitch ranges. This is one of Rhythm Tecn's best kept secrets. As a drum instructor and an artist myself, it is important to have the best snare system on my snare drums and that is why i switched to the Rhythm Tech Active Snare System, and you should too, and yes you can use it for every style of music."

Kenwood Dennard - "Coordinating shaker instead of a ride cymbal"

John Ferraro - "l like to hold the maraca with a stick to create a LOOP like feel for grooves. Also I use it for latin feels. I love the handle, it is easy to hold, nice balance. The Lap Top is really great for practice, teaching and recording"

Shannon Ford - "Tape a jingle shake to a loose snare drum with the snares off for a nasty backbeat!"

Gigi - "During a percussion gig, I play timbales, congas, bongo, and many of the RT percussion instruments. I find that mounting most of my RT percussion on one cymbal stand via the mounts makes it easy to play as well as to transport."

Paul Gonzalez - "I have a Computer Keyboard placed inside one of my Mountable Gig Trays... which is then mounted to a cymbal stand on my Studio Kit. It allows me to record myself, and be my own engineer without leaving my drum throne!"

Erik Hargrove - "Hitting two shakers together on the ends in rhythmic ways along with shaking them."

Carlos Hatem - "I attached the original hi-hat tambourine ring to a bass drum pedal without the beater for a foot operated tambourine"

Charles Heath - "I sometimes use my tambourines on my toms and snare to get various colors"

Brian Melick - "Stack them so that one sound is sympathetic to the other. Very abstract and unusual"

Voyce McGinley - "I often borrow visual elements from the pandeiro and riq styles of playing to use on my RT tambourines. I also mount a pair of RT tambourines onto a Gajate pedal to add clave, back-beat, or other syncopated accents whenever I play hand-drums. For pedal usage, I cable-tie a pair of RT tambourines together to create greater stability and volume."

Stanton Moore - "I've been using the Englehart stuff in the galactic set up. I've got contact mics on the reco reco and lens drum and am running them through a few different effects (flanger, phaser etc.) they sound killin'."

Cary Nasatir - "I have the Skratcher mounted on my RT Timbales. I also use the Crasher mounted on my vintage Leedy one-piece cocktail set. It subs well for a closed hi hat sound."

Rafael Padilla - " ...i've been using your Tambs for the last 20 years in every session i've ever done, and also on every tour i've done. They're Simply the Best"

Kurt Rasmussen - "The Crashers are great for the "World Style" music of Cirque do Soleil. They're also great for our clown acts! Clowns dig their sound a lot more than traditional cymbal crashes and slap sticks. I love to use them for "Punching The Clown"

Kevin Rice - "I often stuff several Eggz shakers into my left sock for cool shaker effect. Besides being cool shakers the Fruits are also good for a laugh when unassuming folks go in for a bite."

Winston Roye - "I just picked up the RT Pro tambourine. It sounds great! I use it instead of hi-hat for one tune and the extra amount of jingles, and the slightly rubbery top surface makes it mix perfectly through the hat mike."

David Sanger - "The Laptop was perfect for European travel. We showed up at a live radio taping with no drums. Out came the laptop and 'viola!' "

Mike Smith - "Often I play a 16th note pattern on the metal shakers while striking it with the tambourine on beats 2 & 4... & also varying those rhythms. I use the hand held cabasa as well as the mounted one... I spin the handheld w/an up down motion & play another pattern on the mounted one w/ my hand, as well as striking it with a stick or triangle beater to create different sounds / colors. These r just a few things I do. Always trying to come up w/ new ways to get different sounds / textures."

Jason Sutter - "I play the tamb with my feet for acoustic shows as a bass drum... on the floor (no mount)"

Charlie Zeleny - "Taking Eggz shakers and placing them on little egg holders and putting them on display on shelf in my studio for decoration between sessions."
